Install

Download the installer and its signature from the download page, verify the checksum, and run it. About 1.5 GB installed.

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. There is no macOS or Linux build.

Verifying the checksum before the first run is worth the thirty seconds. After that, Autonoma verifies its own updates automatically — but on the first install it is not yet there to do it for you.

Your licence key

A licence is required. There is no trial and no free tier.

Paste the key when the app asks. Keys are checked cryptographically, on your machine — so entering one works offline, and the first run needs no connection at all. A server cannot grant a licence; only the signature can, and that is verified locally.

Three things worth knowing:

  • A dated key stops working on its expiry date.
  • Autonoma checks in with the licence server a few times a day, in the background, to ask one question: has this licence been revoked or the account disabled? It is never asked whether the licence is genuine — the signature already answers that.
  • If it cannot reach the server, the app keeps working for seven more days and then stops. That covers an outage, a weekend away or a flight, without making revocation meaningless.

First run, in order

  1. Settings → API keys. Add credentials for the providers you intend to use. The app ships with none, so this is what turns features from “not configured” into working. See API keys.
  2. Social → Studio → Who and where. Set the name that approvals are recorded against, and connect at least one account if you plan to publish.
  3. Safety. Read safety and dry run before going near anything that spends money. Those features are switched off; leave them off until you have watched them work in dry run.

Where your data goes

Under your user profile, not the installation directory, so a reinstall does not lose it:

If you are upgrading from a version released under the previous name, your window layout, last-open tab and settings are carried across automatically. Nothing newer is overwritten.

Uninstalling

Use Add or Remove Programs. That leaves %USERPROFILE%\.autonoma\ in place, containing your credentials, connected accounts and content plan — deliberately, so an uninstall and reinstall does not throw away your setup.

Delete that folder yourself if you want it gone.
