Payment Terms & Billing Policy

Not reviewed by a lawyer. This document was drafted to describe what the software actually does, but it has not had legal review and is not legal advice. Do not rely on it for anything that matters to you without checking. The addresses named below are not yet receiving mail — see contact for what does work today.

1. OVERVIEW

This Payment Terms & Billing Policy (“Policy”) governs all payment transactions for Autonoma software and services. By making a purchase, you agree to these terms.

IMPORTANT: ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Whatever Lemon Squeezy offers at checkout is what is available. This list is indicative; the checkout page is authoritative.

3. PAYMENT PROCESSORS

Payment for Autonoma is processed by:

Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for your purchase.

This section previously also named Stripe and Gumroad. Neither processes any payment for Autonoma. Naming a processor that does not handle your money is not harmless: it tells you the wrong company to contact about a charge, and it implies your card details reached somewhere they never did. Gumroad and the other marketplaces appear elsewhere in these documents as platforms YOU may connect the software to; that is a different relationship and is not payment processing for your licence.

We do not store your full payment card details. All payment information is handled securely by our payment processors.

4. PRICING

Autonoma is sold annually. There is no monthly plan and no free tier. A licence key is required to run the software.

Unlimited licences are issued at our discretion at no charge and are not sold.

5. BILLING CYCLES

Autonoma is sold annually. There is no monthly plan, so there is one billing cycle and nothing to choose between.

This section used to describe monthly billing in detail and then state that the annual price carried a “20% discount compared to monthly billing”. There has never been a monthly price. That sentence was a claim about a discount against a number that does not exist, which makes the real price look like a reduction it is not, and it has been removed rather than reworded.

Your billing cycle begins on your purchase date. Subsequent charges occur on the same date each billing period.

6. AUTOMATIC RENEWAL

6.1 Renewal Terms

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

6.2 Renewal Notification

We do not send one. Autonoma sends exactly one email, and it carries your licence key. Any renewal or receipt notice comes from Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, under their own schedule and to the address you gave them at checkout — we neither control nor promise its timing.

This clause used to say “we will send a reminder email 7 days before renewal”. Nothing in the system sent it. Since §6.4 makes renewal charges non-refundable and §6.3 sets a cancellation deadline, a promised warning that never arrives is the one place in this document where being wrong costs money, so it is stated plainly rather than softened: diarise your renewal date yourself. It is shown on your account page.

Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid charges.

Renewal charges are non-refundable. It is your responsibility to cancel before renewal.

9. UPGRADES AND DOWNGRADES

There are two purchasable plans, Personal and Studio, and neither carries usage limits. Moving between them changes what the software is permitted to do, not how much of it you may do.

10. CANCELLATION

10.1 How to Cancel

Cancel your subscription through the payment provider’s customer portal, using the link in your purchase receipt, or by emailing support@autonoma-studio.com marked for the attention of billing.

This clause listed “Account dashboard” first. There is no cancel control on the account pages — they carry a licence, downloads, active sessions and two-factor settings, and nothing else — so the first route offered was one that does not exist. Section 5.1 of the Subscription Terms already said this correctly, and this now matches it.

11. NO REFUND POLICY

Nothing in these terms removes or limits any right you have under the consumer law of your own country that cannot be waived by agreement. Where such a right applies, it applies regardless of section 11.1.

This list began with “Account dashboard”, the same wrong first entry §10.1 carried for cancellation. The account pages show your licence, your downloads, your active sessions and your two-factor settings. They hold no invoices, and the billing records are not ours to serve — Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record. The two routes above are both real.

14.1 Plans

Autonoma is sold as two plans: Personal ($99/year) and Studio ($199/year). There is no Enterprise plan, no custom billing terms, no purchase orders and no net payment terms. Every subscription is charged in full at the point of purchase.

A third entitlement level, Unlimited, exists but cannot be purchased. It is issued directly by us and carries no charge, so nothing in these Payment Terms applies to it.
